Learned Publishing, the leading scholarly publishing journal published by Wiley on behalf of the Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), is delighted to announce the appointment of Liverpool University Press’ Managing Director, Anthony Cond, as Associate Editor.

Anthony is the founder of the University Press Redux conference, and was a guest editor of the special (open access) issue of the journal devoted to university presses in 2016. Under Anthony’s leadership, LUP has received academic publisher of the year awards from The Bookseller and the IPG (Independent Publishers Guild).

Pippa Smart, Editor-in-Chief of Learned Publishing, said ‘We have always strived to ensure that Learned Publishing captures and publishes the diversity of scholarly publishing practices – so we are delighted that Anthony is joining our prestigious team of Associate Editors to add his tremendous knowledge of humanities and social science publishing.

Anthony Cond commented ‘Learned Publishing has long been essential reading for me.  I am delighted to join the editorial team with a particular remit to capture current discussions around the future of the academic book, and the wider international journals and books landscape in the humanities and social sciences.’
