Dr Mandeep Bajaj is a clinical and translational researcher in obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Dr Mandeep Bajaj, a renowned expert on diabetes and endocrinology, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care, one of more than 70 specialist journals published by BMJ.
Dr Bajaj succeeds Dr Guillermo Umpierrez, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Clinical Director of the Diabetes and Metabolism Center at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, USA, who has been Editor-in-Chief since 2013.
Dr Bajaj is currently a Professor and the Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, USA. He is also the Chief of the Section of Endocrinology at Baylor St Luke’s Medical Center and the Medical Director of the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center Diabetes Program.
Dr Bajaj said “It will be my endeavor to grow and expand the journal internationally and to publish high-quality innovative research in diabetes.”
