Glasstree expands academic publishing program to Australia and Middle East

Glasstree Academic Publishing is proud to announce its expansion into two important new regions - Australia/New Zealand and the Middle East/North Africa - through partnerships with local companies Mercedes Waratah (Australia) and Jamalon (Middle East) for printing and distribution.

These key partnerships will allow academics and academic institutions in these regions the ability to publish their content via locally produced, high quality digital printers, reducing the end to end production to delivery time and providing a quicker publication timeline.

“After speaking to academics and having visited several academic institutions in these two regions, I am optimistic that Glasstree is going to exert its influence in providing academics, associations and educational institutions with the ability to publish independently, and enjoy all of the inherent benefits and recognition from doing so,” said Daniel Berze, SVP Academic Publishing at Glasstree.  “In the Middle East, in particular, Jamalon will support the provision of its Glasstree publishing platform and Glassleaf services in the MENA region, providing digital production and delivery services that are unique to the region.”

In the Australia/New Zealand region, Glasstree will partner with Mercedes Waratah, a Melbourne based digital printer, which will be providing support for individuals and organizations to assist them to publish their own academic material so that they can reach their market in a timely and cost efficient manner. 

Coupled with that partnership, Glasstree is also pleased to announce that Professor James Arvanitakis, Dean of the Graduate Research School, The University of Western Australia, has agreed to serve in the role of Glasstree Ambassador in Australia, supporting Glasstree’s initiative to put publishing back in the hands of the institutions and academics who are responsible for the academic content’s creation and financing.

In the Middle East/North African region, Glasstree will be working with high quality digital printer Jamalon, the Middle East’s largest online bookstore and Print-on-Demand service.  Academics in the Middle East and North Africa will be able to dramatically improve the speed to publication and have the ability to take control of their content and disseminate it in an efficient and economical way. Glasstree will be working to support the textbook market here in particular.
