- Support the continued development of the organisation’s Transformative Agreement programme and wider transition towards Open Access publishing.
- Develop and oversee the training, tools and frameworks required by global sales teams to retain and grow Open Research agreement revenue.
- Identify new ways to demonstrate agreement performance, value and impact, supporting customer satisfaction, retention and long-term commercial relationships.
- Lead and develop a small international team, including colleagues based in the UK and Japan, ensuring consistency across regions while recognising local market requirements.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve commercial barriers, address customer challenges and improve the overall performance of Open Research agreements.
- Lead the rollout of new commercial models, strategic initiatives and programmes designed to address evolving customer needs and market challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement across commercial processes, tools and approaches within a rapidly evolving Open Research environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to think strategically, solve complex problems and bring clarity to challenging commercial situations.
- A proven track record of success within a commercial, sales, customer success or related environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with experience developing, tracking and reporting on metrics that inform commercial strategy and decision-making.
- Experience using data, reporting tools and emerging AI technologies to generate insights and support commercial decisions.
- Experience of consultative selling and negotiating complex, multi-year commercial agreements.
- Experience developing and implementing commercial frameworks, tools, processes and programmes within a changing business environment.
- Previous people management experience, ideally involving international or geographically dispersed teams.
