Overview

Tutor: Gaynor Redvers-Mutton, Associate Director Business Development & Sales, Biochemical Society

This On-Demand course lays the foundations of OA economics, describing financial drivers of stakeholders, the funding flows and what money there is in the system, followed by a description of the business models that support OA.

It is aimed at a broad spectrum of publishing professionals, from those with some familiarity with Open Access to those with deep experience looking to gain more knowledge of the business and financial aspects. You will learn about stakeholder needs and expectations, as well as what money there is in the system, and which business models can best support your Open Access strategy.

This course is best completed to precede ‘The Economics of OA – Pricing & Business Models’, a live virtual session which will include interactive financial modelling, to ground the knowledge gained in this course with real world scenarios.

This is Course 2 in the Open Access Journals pathway. It is made up of one module which is designed to take approximately one hour. Access the entire pathway here: ALPSP Open Access Learning Pathway – ALPSP Storefront
