Overview

This group will be a collaborative safe space where university presses of all sizes, can work together to the benefit of the whole community. University Presses should strive to work collectively together to overcome barriers and create one strong voice.

Types of issues to be covered:

  • How can University Presses best position themselves as allies of researchers? Community building between University Presses and their academic communities
  • Library budgets
  • Communications within one’s own university
  • What will a University Press look like in the future?
  • How to best find researchers in the areas we publish in
  • Systems and legacy systems – problems around these issues
  • Digital revenues and aggregators/third parties – the complexities
  • Understanding the different drivers of types of University Presses
  • OA – are we meeting the requirements we need (for monographs and journals)?
  • Collaboration for conference presence.
