Assessing the impact of COVID-19 and understanding what the new normal is.

ALPSP is excited to support what we consider to be an essential research project being conducted by Maverick Publishing Specialists and encourage our members to take part.

As we all know the global COVID-19 pandemic has led to unprecedented change to businesses around the world at a pace that has been unimaginable.  Businesses have had to adapt quickly to address the immediacy of the challenge and now need to assess longer term impacts and plan for the future.

For the publishing industry, the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 comes in the midst of digital disruption and changing trends in consumerism.

Business is anything but usual.

On behalf of Maverick Publishing Specialists, Jeremy Brinton and Chris Wilkins will be conducting research into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the UK publishing industry.  Their research will explore impacts on customers, staff, supply chains, operations and product roadmaps and will result in a report that will be freely available to ALPSP members.

Once available, the report will give a view of the impacts across the industry as well as setting out recommendations to mitigate key challenges.  Included in the recommendations will be ideas on how the industry can come together through working groups to address common challenges.

To take part in this initiative, please access the online survey where you will be prompted to answer a number of questions. Responding to the survey should take no more than 15 minutes.  In addition to this qualitative approach, Jeremy and Chris are also conducting interviews and if you would like to take part in one then please do contact Jeremy@maverick-os.com and ChrisW@maverick-os.com.

All responses to the survey and interviews will be completely anonymous and the report is anticipated to be available from mid-June.
