University of Pittsburgh Press (UPP) has selected Liverpool Distribution Services (LDS) as its exclusive print distribution partner for the UK and Europe, and non-exclusive partner for the rest of the world outside of the Americas. LDS launched in September 2024 and UPP joins University of Michigan Press, University of Georgia Press, and Michigan State University Press in benefitting from a genuine sense of transatlantic university press partnership through the boutique sales, marketing, and distribution service that LDS offers. This now includes favourable group printing rates via LUP’s printing partner, CPI.

Liverpool Distribution Services sits alongside the well-established Liverpool Subscription Services, which provides journals subscriptions management for a range of university presses and mission-based publishers.

UPP Director, Peter Kracht, shared: “As the University of Pittsburgh Press expands its editorial program with new series and global authors, our approach to sales, marketing, and distribution also necessitated changes. We found an ideal partner in Liverpool Distribution Services with their depth and breadth of knowledge about the offerings of university presses.”

LUP Chief Executive, Anthony Cond, added: “There is so much to admire about the clever, subtle evolution of University of Pittsburgh Press, building on historic editorial strengths but also making astute choices for new directions in recent years. We are excited to work in partnership with Peter Kracht and his colleagues to amplify their outstanding work.”

The new agreement commences Monday 3rd November 2025, and orders will be supplied by LUP’s fulfilment partner, Wiley Distribution.
