The Society of Young Publishers (SYP) have opened volunteer applications for 2022 roles on all committees apart from Scotland. (SYP Scotland applications will open later in spring next year) Registration closes on Wednesday, 05 January 2022, at 10.00 am.

If you are within the first ten years of your publishing career or hoping to get into the industry, you are welcome to apply for a position on one of our committees. Depending on your location, you can join the UK, Ireland, London, North, Oxford or the South West branch. There is no age limit and you don’t need to be studying publishing or have any publishing experience to apply.

Volunteering with the SYP gives you the opportunity to develop great new skills, gain valuable new contacts and friends in the publishing community, and also make a positive difference by helping others get into or ahead in the industry.

Tanu Shelar, 2021 UK Chair, said: "Volunteering at the SYP has been an incredible experience. I found a supportive community, developed relevant skills and a greater understanding of our industry. I encourage all hopefuls and those working in publishing to join the SYP committees of 2022."

You don’t have to be an SYP member to apply. All you need is a passion for the book business, and a willingness to learn  the values and work of the society.

We welcome applications from those of any background and particularly encourage candidates from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent, and lower socio-economic backgrounds/experiences.

You can APPLY NOW for a role on one of our committees.
