RVRite 2.0 unifies collaborative authoring, automated XML conversion, in-system proofing, and integrated post-acceptance integrity checks to accelerate time to publish and reduce publishing costs.

London, UK – 3 February 2026 – River Valley Technologies (RVT) today announced RVRite 2.0, an XML-first authoring and production platform that unifies collaborative authoring, automated XML conversion, and in-system proofing. The platform enables publishers and societies to accelerate time to publication, reduce manual administration, lower operational costs, and strengthen research integrity across their publishing portfolio.

Publishers are under increasing pressure to do three things at once: publish faster, reduce production costs, and increase integrity and transparency. Yet many workflows still rely on disconnected handoffs between submission, revision, and production – creating friction for authors and editors, and leaving blind spots when content changes late in the process.

RVRite 2.0 closes those gaps by making structured XML the foundation of the workflow, ensuring all outputs, including the final PDF, are produced from a single, consistent source. Every change is traceable across versions, and content is “born accessible” by default. By putting XML at the core of the publishing cycle, RVRite helps ensure accessible outputs can be generated consistently, without retrofitting at the end.

A unified environment for authoring, revisions and proofing

  1. Collaborative authoring, enabling authors to write and revise together
  2. A smoother author journey across submission, revisions, and final author proofing
  3. Automated conversion to structured XML, including references, to reduce manual production steps and rework
  4. Consistent multi-format publishing outputs in publishers’ bespoke styles

Continuous integrity and full transparency

RVRite 2.0 can integrate with RVT’s Research Integrity dashboard, RVRi, enabling integrity checks during production and – for publishers using ReView – throughout the lifecycle from submission to publication. With full version history and transparency, publishers gain clearer oversight, including change tracking and auditable workflows through to publication.

Faster time to publish and reduced publishing costs

By automating XML conversion and keeping author collaboration, revision handling, and proofing in one continuous workflow, RVRite 2.0 helps publishers to:

  1. shorten production cycle times
  2. reduce manual intervention and repetitive formatting work
  3. strengthen quality control with more consistent structured content
  4. improve transparency and auditability across the lifecycle

RVRite 2.0 also strengthens RVT’s end-to-end workflow data layer, supporting portfolio-level reporting, governance, and auditability across systems.

Maryam Bazargan, CEO of River Valley Technologies, said: “RVRite 2.0 is built for publishers who want speed and scale without sacrificing integrity or control. By putting XML at the centre of authoring and production and keeping integrity checks active throughout, we are enabling a simpler, more transparent journey from submission to publication.”

RVRite 2.0 is part of River Valley’s modular suite spanning submission and peer review (ReView), integrated research integrity oversight, XML-first production and author proofing (RVRite), hosting (RVHost), and analytics (DARVi). Publishers can adopt RVRite independently or as part of an end-to-end workflow and integrate it with existing systems.
