River Valley Technologies (RVT) has announced that Jason De Boer will join the company as Strategic Growth and Client Success Lead, effective 1 July 2026.
The appointment builds on a strong period of client growth for RVT, as publishers and societies increasingly seek modern, proven technology for more complex editorial and publishing workflows.
Jason brings extensive experience across scholarly publishing technology, editorial workflows and publishing services. He will work closely with Maryam Bazargan, CEO of RVT, and RVT’s product and delivery teams to support strategic growth, market engagement and long-term client success.
RVT combines more than 35 years of scholarly publishing experience with digital product development and strategy drawn from other industries. Over the last 14 years, that blend of sector knowledge and modern product thinking has shaped RVT’s platform development.
These platforms are not new entrants to the market. They have been tested, refined and proven in live use with publishers and societies for more than a decade.
Publisher and society requirements have changed significantly in recent years. Editorial teams are under growing pressure from higher submission volumes, research integrity expectations, AI policy, richer metadata, reporting requirements and security standards.
RVT’s long-term investment in modern platform architecture means these requirements can be supported through secure, configurable and integrated workflows. The company has also invested in security governance and structured onboarding processes, enabling publishers to move from established systems more quickly, accurately and with minimal disruption.
Maryam Bazargan, CEO of River Valley Technologies, said: “River Valley is at a very exciting stage. We were early in building modern publishing platforms, and those platforms are now proven in live use with major publishers and societies. The market has shifted towards the kind of connected, secure and flexible workflows we have been developing for many years.
We are seeing unprecedented demand from publishers who want to modernise without taking on unnecessary migration risk. Our onboarding processes are designed to protect historical data, support live workflows and help clients move from established systems faster and more smoothly than many expect.
Jason brings exactly the right combination of publishing knowledge, commercial experience and client focus. He understands the market, he understands editorial systems, and he knows what it takes to support publishers through change. I am delighted that he will be joining RVT as we continue to grow.”
Jason De Boer said: “RVT stands out because it combines proven publishing experience with modern, flexible technology and a practical understanding of what publishers and societies need from their technology partners.
Publishers are increasingly looking for systems that can support multiple workflow stages, reduce manual coordination and adapt to changing requirements. Publishers also need seamless, quick and reliable migration from their legacy systems. RVT is strongly positioned to support these needs, and I am delighted to be joining Maryam and the wider team at this next stage of growth.”
Jason’s appointment follows continued investment in RVT’s senior team across product, delivery, security, implementation and client success.
