2 April 2024

We are delighted to announce the first sessions of the PLS Conference 2024.

The Conference’s morning sessions have been curated to provide useful introductory workshops on collective licensing, rights management, and permissions, as well as parallel sessions provided by our licencing agents on recent developments in licensing and content protection.

Publishers’ Licensing Services’ Chief Executive, Tom West, will be joined by our Publisher Relations Executive, Amy Byrne, as the Conference commences with an Introduction to Collective Licensing. Continuing the morning’s theme of improving knowledge of rights management,  there will be a PLS-led permissions session and the morning will close with a session on how to optimise rights and permissions strategies.

In parallel sessions, James Bennett, Head of Rightsholder Relations, Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) will provide an overview of CLA licensing and technology solutions for the education sectors, and a second session focusing on the corporate and public sectors, including revenue updates and new initiatives. The morning’s licensing agent updates will close with, ‘IP Crime in the News industry – how NLA track and remove publishers’ stolen content’, a session provided by Matt Aspinall, Head of Commercial Services at NLA Media Access.

Following the informative workshops, discussions, and personalised consultations of the morning, the day will progress with a series of specialist sessions led by our esteemed Trade Associations providing a valuable look into the latest strategies, initiatives and updates shaping publishing. Follow our social medias to be the first to hear when speakers, panels and keynotes are announced.
