Professor Hans Kromhout takes up his post for specialist BMJ journal in June.
Professor Hans Kromhout, an occupational hygiene and epidemiology specialist, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, one of more than 70 specialist journals published by BMJ.
Professor Kromhout will take up his post in June, succeeding Malcolm Sim, who has been Editor-in-Chief since 2013.
Professor Kromhout is currently Professor of Exposure Assessment and Occupational Hygiene at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences at Utrecht University, in the Netherlands. He is also chair of The Health Council of the Netherlands’ Committee on Electromagnetic Fields.
Professor Kromhout has been an associate editor of Occupational & Environmental Medicine since 2009.
Professor Kromhout said “Rapid changes and challenges in the field of occupational and environmental health require dedicated, applied and fundamental research on which evidence-based policies can be based. I feel honoured to be instrumental in providing a platform for it by leading this outstanding journal.”
