LDN apprenticeships launched their enrolment for apprentices to the Level 4 Publishing Professional Apprenticeship. The programme is an updated version to the previous Level 3 Publishing Assistant Apprenticeship and covers the entire publishing journey, from the conception of a book, digital product, journal or other product, through to production, sales, marketing and publicity processes, in even more depth than before.

The new standard has been designed to be inclusive of all publishing sectors. The highlights of the new programme include:

• DE&I
• Climate change/sustainability
• Technological trends (AI as well as other digital change)
• Accessibility
• Successful hybrid working

LDN Apprenticeships is proud to have been part of the trailblazer for the Level 4 Publishing Professional Apprenticeship alongside The Publishers Association, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Cambridge University Press, Faber and Faber, Taylor and Francis, Harper Collins, Elsevier, Raintree, Nosy Crow, Bloomsbury, Dorling and Kindersley, Penguin Random House, Saraband.

Trailblazer chair, Berwyn Jones from Pearson said:

“The new Publishing Professional apprenticeship is designed to meet the needs of a much broader segment of the publishing industry, including trade, journals, education, magazines and many more. It also has a greater focus on digital knowledge and skills (such as artificial intelligence, user experience and accessibility), as well as addressing the wider social issues of climate change and diversity, equity and inclusion.”

The duration for this apprenticeship is expected to remain at 15 months.
