October 18: Hypothesis has reached a huge new milestone: we’ve recorded over two million annotations. Less than nine months after seeing our millionth annotation and the W3C’s historic publication of web annotation standards, Hypothesis users have doubled the total number of annotations. Our daily volume is growing as well: In September, we also saw our first 10K annotation day. Our monthly annotation counts are now over 200k and growing, meaning that three million annotations will likely come within 5 months. This continuing rise in usage makes it clear: more people are using universal web annotation more often for more things: to learn, teach, research, fact-check, review, collaborate, converse, and comment.
