Editage Insights—Resources for Authors and Journals—celebrated its second anniversary in November 2015. Editage launched this knowledge-based portal in November 2013 with a mission to give authors and journals globally a holistic platform on which to share and receive information about all aspects of academic publishing. In a short span of two years, Editage Insights has grown in outreach and scope.
In order to reach out to researchers in their own language, Editage Insights was launched in English followed by Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. The resources on Editage Insights are currently viewed by about 95,000 readers from around 200 countries per month. Readers can register for free in order to save content to their library, receive content recommendations as per their preferences, and get free advice from Dr. Eddy who personifies best research publication practices. About 1100 readers have already signed up for these benefits so far.
The informative and educational content on Editage Insights is created by a core editorial team and several guest contributors—industry experts who care deeply about academic publishing and are keen to share their knowledge and ideas with the world. The topics covered include all stages of research publication, career advancement for researchers, and current trends and hot topics of discussion in the global academic publishing industry. The portal has published over 1000 pieces of original content, including articles, videos, SlideShare presentations, interviews, Q&A pieces, and—a new format that researchers are finding very useful—infographics.
Clarinda Cerejo, Editor-in-Chief of Editage Insights, is ecstatic about the success the knowledge-based portal has been achieving. 'We’ve grown by leaps and bounds,' she remarks and goes on to add, 'We’ve found Editage Insights mentioned and our content cited and reproduced by several publishers, journals, and academic websites, and I’m honored that our work is making a difference to researchers globally. While it seems like we’ve come a long way, we have no time to rest on our laurels. We have our work cut out for us while we try to make Editage Insights a more engaging and exciting experience for all our readers. Readers can look forward to a smarter interface, more interactive features, customized newsletters, and ever-richer content.'
