67 Bricks is proud to be named among the key science, technology and medical (STM) platform providers in Outsell’s latest industry report, released on 9 April 2020.

As publishers rush to mobilise access to their scientific research and accelerate their digital strategies, the publishing platform has never been more critically important.

67 Bricks co-founder Sam Herbert said:  “Being named as a key platform provider in this report by Outsell is a huge milestone for us. Being identified as offering the modern, robust and flexible platform solution that many publishers are looking to switch to is even better.  This accolade is testament to our great development work with clients, and our partnerships with them that are based on trust, honesty and shared long-term goals.  We are never afraid to push back if we think it is for the client’s greater good.”

Outsell said that 67 Bricks echoed “many of the pain points voiced by publishers, showing awareness of what keeps its customers up at night.”  The report went on to say “67 Bricks’ positioning as “a critical friend with an opinion” may resonate well with publishers that need to navigate the selection of technology and features available to them, considering the upfront costs and long-term consequences of their implementations.”

The report, written by Tatiana Khayrullina – Director & Lead Analyst at Outsell, also commented that market drivers such as OA, the commoditisation of content delivery and the risks of being “two steps from the user” were all additional factors in publishers turning the spotlight on to their platform and examining whether what they currently have in place offers the control, flexibility and agility to innovate that will enable them to survive in the digital era.

Other providers reviewed by Outsell include Atypon, CCC Professional Services, Ingenta, HighWire Press, Sheridan PubFactory and Silverchair.
