Kudos (www.growkudos.com), the award-winning service for accelerating research impact through strategic communications management, is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Dennis as Academic Outreach Manager. Emma joins Kudos from the Web of Science Group at Clarivate Analytics, where she worked extensively with both university and publisher clients in the research sector, providing data tools and workflow management solutions.

“Emma’s arrival is perfectly timed, as we’re fast approaching the launch of our new service – helping researchers collaborate to plan, action, measure and report on communications around their work,” says Michael Tadman, Sales Director at Kudos. “Pre-launch outreach has generated a high level of interest from research groups, departments, schools, faculties and funders, so Emma’s strong knowledge of the sector will enable her to hit the ground running in helping our prospective customers understand how we can support their engagement, dissemination and impact activities.”

“I know from my past roles just how much funders’ and institutions’ expectations around research communication have grown in recent years,” adds Emma Dennis. “It’s a smart move for Kudos to expand into an end-to-end platform, supporting everything from pre-award communications planning, to measuring engagement efforts and tracking impact potential. I’m thrilled to be part of such a respected and innovative team.”

About Kudos

Over 280,000 researchers have signed up to use Kudos’ free platform for managing communications around their publications – across multiple publishers and tools. They explain work in plain language and generate trackable links for sharing via email, web and social networks; these enable communications to be directly mapped against views, downloads, altmetrics and citations. Kudos thereby provides researchers, and their publishers and institutions, with a rich understanding of which channels and activities are most effective for broadening reach and impact. Kudos has over 100 publisher, institutional, society and corporate customers around the world. Recent analysis of Kudos data indicates that growth in full text downloads on the publisher site is 23% higher when the Kudos toolkit is used. Kudos was named Best New End User Product at the 2014 Charleston Advisor Readers’ Choice Awards and won the 2015 ALPSP Award for Innovation in Publishing. It has been named in Outsell’s “Ten to Watch” for three consecutive years and was voted one of the Top 3 emerging companies in the global information industry at Outsell’s Signature Event in 2017.
