Following the announcement of the extension of its Open Access policy to include monographs and book chapters, the Wellcome Trust have published guidance for publishers when developing policies and process for OA books.  This is in addition to the clear and helpful document detailing their policy in February 2015.

The practical guide provides suggestions on the information to include on an OA policy page, signposting the open access version of a monograph (including production and marketing considerations) and how to handle third party images.

The Wellcome Trust do not intend these as requirements, as they recognise the evolution of the OA monograph space.  They provide this document as a suggestion toward the development of industry best practice.
