CSIRO Publishing is seeking a strategic and audience-focused Senior Marketing Manager to lead and actively deliver marketing across journals, books, writer training, science news and digital products.

 

This is a high-energy Marketing Manager role with responsibility for growing discoverability, audience reach, engagement, submissions, sales and brand visibility through both strategic direction and hands-on execution.

 

This is a commercially focused role suited to a hands-on leader who is comfortable setting strategy, rolling up their sleeves to deliver results and guiding a small marketing team through change while building a high-performing culture.

 

What you’ll do

  • Develop and deliver marketing strategies that grow revenue, audience reach, discoverability and brand visibility.
  • Lead multi-channel campaigns across email, newsletters, social media, advertising and other digital channels.
  • Use data, customer insights and performance measures to improve campaign effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Support and grow author, reader and library engagement across journals, books and digital platforms.
  • Drive digital transformation, system improvements and marketing automation initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in marketing strategy, campaign delivery and audience growth.
  • A track record of using digital marketing, content and analytics to deliver measurable results.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across diverse internal and external groups.
  • People leadership capability, including coaching, prioritisation and team development.
  • Experience in scholarly, STM or related publishing environments will be highly regarded with an interest in science communication, publishing and the role of trusted information in improving lives.
