Dr. Hua He, M.D., M.Phil.

Dr. Hua He is a publishing executive with expertise in scientific publishing, gastroenterology, and oncology. She earned her M.D. from Xiangya Medical School, Central South University, in 2001 and trained as a resident in geriatrics at Southwest Hospital, Chongqing. She later pursued gastrointestinal cancer research at the University of Hong Kong, earning a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in 2004 and continuing as a research associate until 2006.

Transitioning to scientific publishing, Dr. He joined the Chinese Journal of Cancer (now Cancer Communications) as a Science Editor in 2006. In 2011, she co-founded Xia & He Publishing Inc. (XHP), which now publishes 10 English-language biomedical journals. Committed to providing timely and unrestricted access to research, XHP covers fields such as hepatology, gastroenterology, pharmacology, pathology, oncology, integrative medicine, gene expression, neurosurgery, and general medicine. Its portfolio includes one journal indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), one indexed in PubMed Central (PMC), and four indexed in Scopus. 

Dr. He has authored or co-authored 17 peer-reviewed publications and is an active member of the World Association of Medical Editors, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the Council of Science Editors. She has served as Secretary General of the Alliance for Scientific Editing in China.

Dr. He has received the Best Poster Award at the Council of Science Editors Annual Meeting in 2016. She has also been an invited speaker at numerous international conferences, presenting on topics related to medical writing, research ethics, and academic misconduct.
