Jane Alfred

Jane Alfred is a professional editor and trainer. She works across the research sector through her independent consultancy company Catalyst Editorial and as a member of the UK Committee on Research Integrity (UKCORI) to improve research integrity, research practice, research culture & publication ethics.

 

As a professional editor, Jane provides editorial support services and publication ethics training to scholarly publishers. During her publishing career, Jane managed both research journals and review journals, and oversaw publishing ethics issues, investigations into alleged research misconduct, breaches of editorial policy, authorship disputes and author complaints, and has developed editorial policies and standards, including on publishing ethics, research reporting standards and practices, and peer review. For much of her editorial career, she has been a member of COPE and since 2018, Jane has been a member of the advisory council of the UK Research Integrity Office. She currently volunteers on UKRIO’s advisory service.
