Adrian Harper

Adrian is a senior technology leader with over 30 years of experience across the academic publishing and financial services industries. Most recently, he served as Head of Digital Landscape at Karger Publishers, where he was responsible for enterprise technology, cybersecurity and digital services across international operations.

Over his career, Adrian has led major technology and operational change initiatives spanning enterprise systems, cloud services, digital workplace platforms and information security. He has extensive experience in technology governance, operational resilience and risk management, including reporting technology and cyber risks to executive leadership and board stakeholders.

Adrian has a particular interest in the evolving relationship between scholarly publishing, technology and cybersecurity, including the governance implications of AI and digital platforms. He is a member of ISACA and has contributed to industry initiatives such as the STM's Scholarly Networks Security Initiative (SNSI).

Through his role on the ALPSP Board, Adrian aims to support the organisation in navigating the opportunities and challenges presented by an increasingly digital publishing landscape.
