Kaveh Bazargan

Kaveh Bazargan is a physicist with a PhD in 3D imaging and a pioneer in display holography. In 1988 he founded River Valley Technologies in London, in order to introduce computer generated illustrations to UK publishers. His passion for enhancing research communication led to the creation of the company’s innovative publishing solutions.

Over the last 12 years he has helped build River Valley’s groundbreaking end to end XML-based publishing system, designed to save time for authors, publishers and peer reviewers, whilst minimising costs and time to publish. The system includes: ReView, the award-winning submission and peer review platform; Research Integrity checker; cloud-based authoring, editing and proofing; automated XML to PDF conversion; and a multilingual and accessible publishing platform.

 

Kaveh now dedicates his time to leading the RVT Innovation Hub, working on developing future publishing solutions that address the threats and opportunities in scholarly publishing.
