
Jigisha Patel
Jigisha trained as a medical doctor and worked in clinical medicine before completing a PhD in clinical physiology at Queen Mary University of London, UK. Jigisha moved to scholarly publishing 17 years ago. Since then, she has developed her expertise in research integrity. She led the first Research Integrity Group, a team dedicated to maintaining research integrity standards, at BioMed Central and helped to establish the research integrity group at Springer Nature. Jigisha is now, an independent research integrity specialist and founder of Jigisha Patel Research Integrity Limited.
As an independent research integrity specialist, Jigisha work with publishers, journals and other organizations that are committed to preserving research integrity. She uses her experience to create and deliver strategies that help to manage, prevent and detect research and publication misconduct and tackle challenges to research integrity. She also provides training and resources for new editors and early career researchers on all matters related to research integrity.
Jigisha is an independent elected member of COPE Council.
