GOBI is a trusted resource for thousands of libraries, offering centralised purchasing, tailored approval plans, and integration into established acquisitions workflows. This new partnership means librarians can discover, evaluate, and order Emerald titles in the same place they already source content from leading publishers, saving them time and reducing administrative effort.

For many institutions, GOBI approval plans are linked to long-term vendor agreements and pre-committed budgets. This means Emerald’s books can now be included in these plans, enabling automatic recommendations or acquisitions without extra steps. This is especially valuable for libraries with limited capacity for title-by-title selection.

The move strengthens Emerald’s competitive position in the library market by placing its publications where collection decisions are actively made. For authors, it means their work will be visible to a wider audience and positioned alongside other key voices in their fields.

“This integration puts Emerald’s research where librarians are already making their decisions,” said Terri Teleen, President Americas at Emerald Publishing. “It’s a powerful way to help our authors’ work reach more readers, while making life easier for acquisitions teams worldwide. It supports our mission at Emerald to make high-quality research widely available.”

Jon Elwell, Senior Vice President EBSCO Books said: “Our partnership with Emerald Publishing expands the range of trusted content available to libraries through GOBI Library Solutions. By making Emerald’s books discoverable and orderable within existing acquisitions workflows, we’re giving libraries more choice and ensuring their users benefit from high-quality research across disciplines.”

The integration is now live, and Emerald titles can be accessed directly through GOBI Library Solutions.
