This is an introductory-level course for everyone new or interested in finding out about the scholarly peer review process (for journals and books, HSS and STM). Many academic/scholarly publishers and societies have in-house editorial office staff who manage peer review systems and processes. This course offers a structured approach to this element of the job by providing context, examining the mechanics of managing peer review process, and exploring the changing peer-review landscape. The basic principles of scholarly peer review are the same, but there are subtle differences to be aware of in the approach to peer review between books and journals, and even across disciplines/specialties.
Please note: Delegates will not receive a recording of the training course. Read helpful information for delegates attending.

Testimonials
I enjoyed the diversity and inclusion section, and talking about ethics in peer review, it wasn't something I had come across or thought about before. Going over the scenarios and hearing perspectives from both books and journals, especially other journals, was really helpful and illuminating." Anna Lyczmanenko, British Association of Dermatologists
Comprehensive and well-designed. I especially loved that it was a small group which made it very easy to speak up and interact.” Sana Kidwai, Cambridge University Press & Assessment
This course provided a great overview of the Peer Review process, as well as digging further into issues and best practices. It was a very informative course, and I learned a lot from it." Jane Foley, American Meteorological Society
