Fiona Hutton

Fiona Hutton is Head of Publishing at eLife, leading the four publishing departments - Editorial, Production, the Magazine, and Publishing Development. In 2023, eLife moved to a new model of publishing which prioritises preprints and their review leading to a more transparent, faster, and fairer way to publish research. Before eLife, Fiona held roles at Cambridge University Press and Assessment, the Wiley Open Access Initiative, Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews and the Trends Journals. Her interests lie in innovative publishing initiatives that disrupt and evolve how research is published for the purpose of facilitating open and reproducible scientific research.
