Overview

An effective editor-in-chief (EIC) is critical to sustaining and enhancing a journal's performance. But recruiting, selecting, and coaching new EICs is not always straightforward, with a range of practical, ethical, (and political) factors to consider. This webinar, the first in a two part series focusing on editors-in-chief and editorial boards, will focus on the key steps to recruiting new EICs. Speakers will consider how to set up an appropriate search committee, maintain a realistic schedule, manage the search and nomination process, evaluate applicants, navigate sensitive issues, communicate with candidates and stakeholders, select the finalist, negotiate the editor agreement, and plan for the transition.
