ALPSP Networking: Open Access and the Price Transparency Framework

Mary Ward House, 5-7 Tavistock Place, London WC1H 9SN, United Kingdom (map)

A discussion and networking evening for ALPSP Members.

Chair: Niamh O'Connor, Chief Publishing Officer, PLOS and Chair, ALPSP Council

Speakers:

Jean-Claude Burgelman, Advisor Open Access Envoy, European Commission

Alicia Wise, Director, Information Power

Join us for our next member networking evening to hear about and discuss developments in the move to full open access and the Price Transparency Framework project and pilot studies. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.  The Chatham House rule will apply.

Following on from last year’s SPA OPS project, but unconnected to it, Information Power is doing another project for cOAlition S. This project involves convening funders, libraries, publishers, and universities to inform the development of implementation guidelines for one of the Plan S requirements: for OA services and prices to be communicated in a transparent, practical, and insightful way. In the Autumn an independent report and draft framework were published, and the framework is now being piloted by publishers including Annual Reviews, Brill, The Company of Biologists, EMBO Press, European Respiratory Society, Hindawi, PLOS, and SpringerNature. Alicia Wise will provide a quick overview of the project, the pilot, and publisher feedback so far received.
