IOP Publishing - Product Development Manager

As the Product Development Manager you will be responsible for driving forward product development for a variety of library and researcher products, with a focus on corporate libraries. You will be responsible for product planning and execution, defining the product vision, analysing and assessing customer requirements, and working closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

This will additionally involve providing quality information and data analysis to the Head of Business Development and Sales, including conducting market research for competitive products, assessing markets and business models, pricing options for new products, and assessing the adoption of alternative business models for existing products. The role also includes management and initiation of third-party distribution partnerships for journals and books.

The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate the following:

  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to manage multiple stakeholders, including any external business relationships.
  • Strong and effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Product management experience a plus but not required.
  • Affinity toward, analytics, data and research.
  • An ability to work comfortably alone and finding own solutions to problems that arise.
  • Motivated team player.
  • Knowledge of the publishing industry would be advantageous.
