 About you 

Academic publishing is changing at an ever increasing rate with major challenges and opportunities in the imminent future. The Director of Publishing is a critical role within the Society, leading the largest staff team and generating the majority of the Society’s income.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who has the vision and talent  to develop and manage the BES’ portfolio of publications and lead the publishing team.

You will need significant experience in STM publishing, excellent strategic planning skills, be a first-class communicator and an outstanding team leader able to operate in a complex environment.  This is an exciting opportunity which has a major influence on the shape and future of the Society.

 Covid-19 response

During the past few months, the BES offices have been closed and the staff team have been working from their homes. The necessary equipment has been provided by the BES to enable staff to fulfil as much of their role as is viable. We hope for a partial return to the office before this role is recruited, however please be aware that you may be required to work from home in some part for a limited period of time.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent 

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Location: London – within easy walking distance of Angel and Old Street tube stations

Closing date: 10am 27 July 2020
