The role
Bristol University Press (BUP) is an award-winning social science publisher committed to making a difference and influencing social change.
We are seeking a new Finance Manager who will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting for BUP. The post-holder will ensure both the smooth running of the day-to-day financial processes and continuous improvement of management information and analysis.
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Manager who can provide excellent financial advice and support to improve decision making, enable strategic initiatives and improve financial performance.
What will you be doing?
The post-holder will have ownership of the BUP finance function working in liaison with the University of Bristol Finance Team. The role holder will report to the BUP Chief Executive and will work closely with the press’ Senior Management Team. They will have line management responsibility for the Finance and Sales Administrator.

- You have strong technical accounting knowledge.
- You can demonstrate your commercial acumen.
- You possess advanced modelling and excel skills.
- Experience of publishing would be an advantage.
