This course will provide you with the essential practical skills to make your meetings highly effective, where everyone contributes and all necessary decisions are reached.

  • Identifying what makes an effective editorial board
  • Setting expectation and objectives for the editorial board
  • How strategic and operational objectives affect performance
  • How to get buy-in from all members, and ensure everyone stays engaged
  • Essential processes and tools for highly effective communication before, during and after editorial board meetings
  • The importance of identifying the stages of team development
  • How to influence confidently.

What will you learn?

Have the skills to create a high performing editorial board; identify how your editorial board is performing; prioritise areas that will improve performance and develop a strategy to implement change; easily build effective partnerships and influence others.

"A fantastic course (by far the most useful ALPSP course for me so far). The tutors covered an extensive range of topics in very little time. Weren't afraid to look at perceived obvious issues which actually had not so obvious solutions. Thank you for a productive course!" Buchi Okeraeafor, The Royal Society
