Article Versions

Journal articles go through various iterations during their life. The digital environment has increased potential confusion since articles may appear online at different stages of evolution. This leads to citation confusion - and sometimes mis-representation of the ultimate published article (or subsequent updated articles). The problems inherent with multiple versions being available has become of increasing concern and various projects and organizations have started to investigate ways of clarifying the situation for users.
