ALPSP Update
'All Your Documents Are Belong to Us': the Next Wave in Publishing Infrastructure

Wednesday 9 July 2008, London

British Institute of Radiology, 36 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AT  (map)

Chair: Geoff Bilder, CrossRef

'All Your Documents Are Belong to Us': The Next Wave in Publishing Infrastructure  (link)

As publishers consider revamping their online publishing infrastructures, they are increasingly looking to new technologies like XML databases, RDF triple stores and XML-aware fulltext indexing engines. Hear how publishers are using Mark Logic Server, Exist, Jens and Lucene/Solr in order to provide a more flexible and robust infrastructure for their future online publishing needs.

This technology update, though on a technical topic, will be geared at non-techies who want to understand the value-proposition behind these technologies.
