ALPSP Seminar
Ensuring Research Integrity in Biomedical Publishing

Wednesday 22 October 2008, London

Mayfair Conference Centre, 17 Connaught Place, London, W2 2EL (map)

Chairs: Sabine Kleinert, Senior Executive Editor, The Lancet
Jeremy Theobald, Executive Editor, Health Threats Forum

This workshop will provide delegates with a 'how to..' guide to ethical publishing. During the day speakers will cover the key ethical issues that biological, biomedical, and clinical journals should consider in order to be ethically robust. In addition, speakers will address the process of implementing such policies, including how to decide if adopting a specific policy is right for your journal, how to do it, what the implications are, and how to communicate your policies to your authors and readers. This workshop will not be covering issues of breaches of publication ethics, as these are addressed by COPE.

The day is aimed at the Academic Editors of peer-reviewed scientific journals and Managing Editors (Journal Editors, Executive Editors) and Editorial Directors of such journals or groups of journals at publishing houses.
