Overview: This workshop will examine the issues, decisions and legal processes involved in the acquisition and sale of content or publications and demonstrate how to achieve these as successfully and smoothly as possible. It will focus on sales and asset purchase but will also touch upon the considerations for buying or selling a company.

- How to look for acquisition/sale opportunities?
- Understanding what you can offer - the need to be 100% professional in your acquisitions/sale approach from start to finish
- The bid document! How to develop the ultimate bid document that will help you achieve your acquisition goals
- Due Diligence. Pitfalls and issues to look out for in discussions
- Contract issues - an overview of the process, 'must-have' and 'nice-to-have' clauses in a sale and purchase agreement
- The practicalities of the transition once the contract is in place
- How successful was that acquisition?
- Post-completion issues
